Aside from the distinctive colour of their coats, a silver Labrador usually looks just like any other Labrador retriever. What is a silver Labrador?Ī silver Labrador is exactly what is sounds like – a Labrador retriever that has a silver-coloured coat rather than one that is a standard colour (black, yellow or chocolate). We’ll look at what silver Labradors are and the various schools of thought on how they came into being in the first place, why the silver colour in Labradors is controversial, and provide all of the information that you need to make an informed decision of your own. Whether you have already fallen for the charms of silver Labradors and are considering buying one or if you were not even aware that silver Labradors existed at all, this article will provide an introduction to silver Labs. This can sometimes result in changes to the breed’s norms and recognised traits in individual dogs – such as colour. The handsome looks and amazing temperament of dogs of the breed makes them very versatile and much in demand with people from all walks of life, and dog breeders are continually working to improve their breed lines and provide what buyers are looking for in puppies. The Labrador retriever is the UK’s most popular large dog breed, and according to our Pets4Homes dog breed popularity ranking, its currently the sixth most popular dog breed overall (as of January 2019). However, they are not the only colours Labs can exhibit, and whilst silver Labradors aren’t by any means common, they are currently attracting a lot of attention both within the UK and further afield – and not all of it positive. Most of us are familiar with the usual Labrador colours of black, yellow and chocolate, and these are the three official colours for Labrador retrievers that are recognised by the UK Kennel Club. If you didn’t know that there is such a thing as silver Labrador retrievers, you are not alone. I still have a couple of packs of Astra blades that I might break out for a test to see how they go now that time has progressed and my razor selection has exploded, but I have a feeling that the GSBs are going to still feel superior. Most popular puppies for sale All puppies for sale Akita for sale American Bulldog for sale American Bully for sale Beagle for sale Belgian Shepherd Dog for sale Bichon Frise for sale Border Collie for sale Border Terrier for sale Boxer for sale Cane Corso for sale Cavachon for sale Cavalier King Charles Spaniel for sale Cavapoo for sale Chihuahua for sale Chow Chow for sale Cockapoo for sale Cocker Spaniel for sale Dachshund for sale Dobermann for sale Dogue De Bordeaux for sale English Bull Terrier for sale English Bulldog for sale English Springer Spaniel for sale French Bulldog for sale German Shepherd for sale Golden Retriever for sale Goldendoodle for sale Hungarian Vizsla for sale Jack Russell for sale Jackapoo for sale Labradoodle for sale Labrador Retriever for sale Lurcher for sale Maltese for sale Maltipoo for sale Miniature Dachshund for sale Miniature Schnauzer for sale Old Tyme Bulldog for sale Patterdale Terrier for sale Pomeranian for sale Pug for sale Rottweiler for sale Shar Pei for sale Shih Tzu for sale Siberian Husky for sale Sprocker for sale Staffordshire Bull Terrier for sale Toy Poodle for sale Whippet for sale Yorkshire Terrier for sale There were one or two razors that the Astra SP performed incredibly in, but the GSBs (so far at least) seem to provide a better shave in more varieties of razors than the Astras did. In my eyes (hands, and razors) they're sharper and provide a smoother shave than the Astras. I've been using Feathers for the past four years almost exclusively until I read the thread on the GSBs and decided to go all in and get 100 (also through razorsdirect). Unfortunately, I fell out of love with them after getting 100 Feathers and never really rediscovered the magic after that. I fell in love with them after having a sampler that had Dorco, Derby, and other assorted blades. Astra SP blades were one of my first 100 blade purchases.
